![[Jesus_Walking.jpg]] ## Till All Be Fulfilled Christ's discourse on the Mount of Olives ([`Matt. 24`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-Chapter-24/)) confuses many. Jesus was using the destruction of Jerusalem as a type (or a typological prophecy) for the antitype fulfillment of His second coming. This is what my Lord meant by "This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled" ([`Luke 21:32`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Luke-21-32/); [`Matt. 24:34`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-24-34/)). Indeed, the generation of the apostles did live to see the destruction of Jerusalem which occurred in AD 70, during the siege of General Titus. In the years leading up to this event, there were earthquakes ([`Acts 16:26`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Acts-16-26/)), famines ([`Acts 11:28`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Acts-11-28/)), and pestilences, which evil men like the Roman Emperor Nero used to justify the execution of Christians. These signs are to be repeated on a much larger, global scale nearing Christ's true second coming in the clouds. It is then we will see the signs and wonders described, such as the sun being darkened, stars falling from heaven, etc. as these occur immediately before Christ appearing in the clouds ([`Matt. 24:29-30`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-24-29_24-30/)). I believe this has not happened yet. In an earlier scene, right before the Mount of Transfiguration, Christ said "There be some standing here which shall not taste of death till they see the kingdom of God" ([`Luke 9:27`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Luke-9-27/)). Here my Lord is making reference to the establishment of His spiritual kingdom, which was established on the Day of Pentecost in AD 31 (the same year of His crucifixion). On that day, His spirit was poured out upon His disciples and believers of the everlasting Gospel, and it is still freely available to anyone today. This spiritual kingdom is not visible to the eye but is indeed here. After all, "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, **_behold, the kingdom of God is within you_**." ([`Luke 17:20-21`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Luke-17-21/)) Christ can dwell with you and in you, transforming you into an ambassador of His kingdom for the day when He gathers His elect from the four winds of the earth. While I have great skepticism towards secular history and even our Papal Gregorian calendar, I have not seen compelling evidence to suggest that Christ has already returned or that there are massive gaps of missing time. The Papal Gregorian calendar system certainly has its flaws and is well documented to be off by a few years, but I believe the Enemy exaggerates these discoveries to lead others into further error. ## And After Many Days Regarding the 1000 year reign and armageddon, I have a completely different view from the mainstream perspective. I reject the pervasive error in the teaching that the 1000 year reign of Christ ([`Rev. 20:4`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-20-4/)) is something that will occur on earth. The false doctrine of a "rapture" pushed by films like _Left Behind_ are all demonic lies which seek to pervert the second advent of Christ. When the Son of Man returns in His glory, the entire earth will be cleansed ([`2 Pet. 3:10`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/2-Peter-3-10/)). It will not be a secret, localized event but visible to all ([`Rev. 1:7`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-1-7/); [`Matt. 24:27`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-24-27/)). At that time, those who are saved in Christ will meet Him in the clouds ([`1 Th. 4:16-17`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/1-Thessalonians-4-16/); [`Matt. 24:31`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-24-31/); [`1 Cor. 15:52`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/1-Corinthians-15-52/)). Those who live to that day and are not saved will be destroyed by His presence ([`Matt. 24:28`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-24-28/)). The earth will be left as a desolate, empty, wasteland—similar to the first week of creation—where Satan and his minions will be left alone to wander the earth for 1000 years. This is a fulfillment of the Day of Atonement ceremony ([`Lev. 16:6-10`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Leviticus-16-6_16-10/)), where Christ is the returning High Priest and Satan is the scapegoat (also called Azazel) forced to wander the wilderness. Then, at the end of the 1000 years, the rest of the dead will be resurrected to experience the final judgement, the second death ([`Rev. 20:5`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-20-5/)). The prophet Isaiah was particularly vivid in his description of this gap of time: [`Isaiah 24:22`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Isaiah-24-22/) > They shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, **_and after many days shall they be visited_**. I'm aware Peter's second epistle speaks of how a day with the Lord is a thousand years ([`2 Pet. 3:8`](https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/2-Peter-3-8/)). This works beautifully in the context of his epistle and a literal understanding of the week of creation in Genesis. God has been laboring to save humanity for 6000 years since the fall, and when Christ was crucified, it had been 4000 years since the fall. The 1000 year reign in heaven will be the millennial sabbath, where the saints will have the opportunity to learn in detail the true history of our stage play. [[Foreshadowing, not Prophecy|<< Back]]
